Buon Giorno Wabasso

The Fresh Mozzarella Company opened its first retail establishment in Wabasso in August, offering fresh, dry and smoked mozzarella, handmade Italian desserts, stuffed grape leaves, roasted peppers, imported olives, homemade ravioli, H&H bagels and bialys (trucked in from New York), imported Italian pasta and other specialty gormet products.

The Fresh Mozzarella LLC was established in 2002 by Jeff Silver, Vero Beach resident and former partner and sales/marketing director for Lioni Latticini Mozzarella Co. in New York. The company wholesales its award-winning products to upscale food retailers in Florida, including Whole Foods and The Fresh Market, from its headquarters in Vero Beach, so Silver decided to make specialty food items available to the local community at above-wholesale prices.

The Fresh Mozzarella Company is located at 8705 U.S. Highway 1 in Wabasso. Hours are Monday through Friday 10 to 5, Saturday 9 to noon. 388-6678.
