The world’s leading cheese experts chose Lioni’s Ricotta di Bufala, which is made from 100% grassfed buffalo milk imported from Italy, out of 4,502 entries, from 43 countries.
Lioni’s Ovoline traditional fresh mozzarella cheese received the 1st place award
at the 2023 American Cheese Society competition, topping 21 entries in the
Fresh Mozzarella (under 8 oz.) category.
Lioni’s Burrata Con Panna was awarded the highest honor in the 2023 American
Cheese Society competition in the Burrata category, topping 13 other burrata
entries. The American Cheese Society Judging and Competition, is the largest
event of its kind for American-made cheeses.
Lioni’s Stracciatella Panna di Latte received a Bronze award at the World Cheese Awards in Newport, Wales UK. With 4,434 entries from 42 countries and 900 companies world-wide, Lioni’s Stracciatella impressed many of the world’s leading experts in cheese in the most prestigious cheese-only event.
Lioni’s Stracciatella Panna di Latte was awarded 1st place in the Cow’s Milk – Open Cheese Category for excellence in cheesemaking and commitment to food safety. Lioni’s Stracciatella Panna di Latte received the New Product Award in the Cow’s Milk Cheese category as part of the Specialty Food Association’s 2022 sofi™ Awards, a top honor in the $170 billion specialty food industry. Products were judged on taste, including flavor, appearance, texture and aroma, ingredient quality, and innovation.
Lioni’s Burrata Con Tartufo received 1st place in the Flavored Cheese category at the 2019 ACS Judging & Competition. Lioni’s cheese which features the finest black summer truffles in a luscious, cream-filled center was recognized for its excellence in flavor and texture amongst 1742 products from 257 entrants.
Lioni’s Bufala Fresca was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2018 World Cheese Awards in Bergen, Norway. The largest and most esteemed competition of its kind, it included 3,500 cheeses from 6 continents judged by a panel of 230 cheese specialists from around the world.
Lioni’s Burrata Con Tartufo received a Super Gold award and was named one of the World’s 62 Best Cheeses at the 2015 World Cheese Awards held in Birmingham, UK. A panel of 250 cheese experts from around the world judged over 2700 entries with 62 of the world’s best selected for Super Gold.

Lioni’s Ciliegine traditional fresh mozzarella cheese received 1st place in the Fresh Mozzarella category at the 2014 World Dairy Expo Championship Cheese Contest, a prestigious all-dairy national contest sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association.

The largest international cheese and butter competition in the world evaluated over 2,615 cheeses from 22 countries for flavor, body, texture, salt, color, finish and packaging, as well as other technical attributes.
Lioni’s Burrata Con Panna was awarded a gold medal at the World Cheese Awards 2012 held at the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. Run by the UK’s Guild of Fine Food, it is an esteemed worldwide competition that included 2,781 cheeses from 30 countries.
